Hello! Those of you who have looked at my bio already know a bit about me. For those who haven’t, here’s a brief recap: my name is Evelyn, I've worked with animals for over 5 years and I am a plus size model. I thought that for my first story, I would tell you about some basic safety tips we should all remember when we are around animals.
One important thing to remember when we are around animals is that they are colorblind, meaning they can only see black and white. A lot of the time, they decide what they want to eat by smelling things, which is ok, but when we are around them we have to remember that they can easily confuse our hands with their food.
Another reason why animals sometimes bite like puppies is because they want to play. To them, their teeth aren't very sharp, so they play as if they were with the rest of the litter (their brothers and sisters), for whom this biting doesn't hurt.
HERE ARE SOME BASIC THINGS TO KNOW AND REMEMBER WHEN WE’RE AROUND ANIMALS:
* DON'T BE MEAN TO THEM (HITTING, KICKING, BITING or PULLING their fur tail or anything else) - THEY DON'T LIKE IT. IT HURTS THEM, AND AS THEY GROW OUT OF THE BABY STAGE, THEY TEND TO BECOME MEAN BECAUSE OF IT.
* NEVER TEASE AN ANIMAL WITH FOOD OR ANYTHING ELSE; the only exception to this rule is house cats, which usually love teaser toys.
* NEVER APPROACH AN ANIMAL YOU DON'T KNOW OR THAT IS WILD. Not all animals are the same, especially wild animals. They are not used to human contact of any kind, and can be unpredictable. But keep in mind that this applies to all animals.
These rules are what I live by in every aspect of my life, and you should too. Just like we should respect each other, we should also respect animals. Without them, we could not live. All of us in this world are part of an ecosystem in which every creature relies on another. And always remember that, most of the time, animals are more afraid of us than we are of them
